Career opportunities at Tate Publishing

All positions are in-house positions at our Oklahoma City locations. No contract labor or freelance positions are currently available.

Conceptual Editor

Tate Publishing is always looking for individuals with experience editing and critiquing fiction and nonfiction with an eye for both grammatical accuracy and conceptual flow (i.e. plot formation, character development, story arc, etc.). Candidate must have first-rate verbal and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent organization skills. Job responsibilities include editing manuscripts with an objective eye and working closely with authors to tighten and strengthen their work before publication. This is an in-house position. Part-time Copy Editor

Tate Publishing is accepting applications from individuals with experience in proofreading and copyediting. Candidate must be detail-oriented, have a working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style, and possess excellent organization skills. Job responsibilities include reviewing and revising manuscripts to ensure grammatical and technical accuracy before publication. Position requires 20 hours per week in our offices. Graphic Designer

Tate Publishing is accepting applications from individuals with experience in conceptual and technical design. This position requires at least 2 years experience in a related design field, a highly creative and self-motivated individual able to work on several projects at one time, a portfolio of completed projects, excellent client service skills, and an ability to maintain a high performance level in a fast-paced environment. You will work directly with the author to create options that meet their needs, as well as the needs of each individual book. Advanced knowledge of the Adobe products; Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator is a must. This is a full time, in house position. Illustrator

Tate Publishing is accepting applications from individuals with experience in illustration. This position requires at least 2 years experience in a related illustration field, a highly creative and self-motivated individual able to work on several projects at one time, a portfolio of completed projects, experience in a wide range of media (computer and traditional), excellent client service skills, and an ability to maintain a high performance level in a fast-paced environment. You will work directly with the author to create options that meet the needs of the author, as well as completes the story. Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Painter is a must to complete touch ups, as well as create original art. This is a full time, in house position. Multi-media Designer and Voice Talent

Tate Publishing is accepting applications for Voice talent and Multi-media designers with experience in Adobe Premier and Adobe Audition. Experience in Flash, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop is a plus. The individual who acquires this position will voice and produce audio books, and create book trailers. This position requires at least 2 years experience in a related Voice and Multi-media field, and should include Voice, Production, and Premier design experience. Only highly creative and self-motivated individuals, who are able to work on several projects at one time need apply. A portfolio of completed projects, excellent client service skills, and an ability to maintain a high performance level in a fast-paced environment are required prerequisites for an interview. Print Production Operator

Tate Publishing is accepting applications for Print Production Operator. Candidates must have a strong mechanical and troubleshooting background. Strong organizational and self-motivation skills are required as well as a general proficiency with computers. Operators must have the ability to stand for 8+ hours and lift or move up to 100lbs. This full-time, in house position will require some overnight/weekend shifts. Operators will work with team members and managers to maintain a high level of output in a timely manner while maintaining the highest levels of quality control relating to color and B/W digital print output. Print Production Operators are responsible for reading and interpreting job specifications and completing projects accurately and on schedule. Team orientation with effective problem solving skills and the ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment is necessary. Experience with Adobe software, Xerox Docusp/Freeflow, Rimage Production Suite or Digital Print Industry experience is a plus.
